Travelling Day from Toronto to Manchester

View of CN Tower Toronto From Trillium Park

Before we left Toronto on our last day, we made a couple of short pit stops. These have left us wanting to see even more of Toronto in the future.

Last piece of street art in Toronto

First up was one final piece of street art. This was one of my favourites of the ones I saw in Toronto.

Sister Cities Street Art Toronto

Sister Cities Street Art Toronto

Named “Sister Cities” it can be found at 20 Charles St. East (Just South Yonge and Bloor), Toronto.

The mural features cityscapes of Frankfurt and Toronto appearing in the reflection of a pair of glasses, illustrating the twinned status the cities have shared for over 30 years. Created by Frankfurt native Justus Becker, working with local artists Alexander Bacon, Quentin Rockford, Christina Mazzulla, and Kyla Buium.

Trillium Park

Before we left Toronto, we had a brief stroll around Trillium Park. It’s a great place, for a short walk to get some more wonderful views of the city. Also it’s an opportunity to see Lake Ontario close-up. Plus you get to see some wonderful plants and birds.

BA Lounge at Toronto

After Trillium Park we then headed to the airport. Once we had dropped off the car and checked in our bags we made our way to the British Airways lounge.

At Toronto Airport the BA Lounge has a First Class area, which because we are Gold Executive Members we were able to go in. It’s quieter than the other lounge and is at table service rather than buffet. After doing a recce of the other lounge, the food appeared to be the same.

Here is the menu for the First Class lounge and some of the food.

The Flight Toronto to Heathrow

Boarding went smoothly and pretty much on time. Because of a last minute change to the aircraft type, my husband and I were sat separately. He was sat in the First cabin albeit the service was still as Business as there are was no First Class on the flight.

Here is the menu for the food available on the flight.

My husband had the potato and leek soap to start. In our experience, you can never go wrong with a soup on British Airways flight. There are always generally really full of flavour and just the right sized portion.

He then had the maple glazed chicken. with sauteed cabbage, potatoes, broccolini and caramelised onion sauce.

For my main, I had the seared trout with roasted new potatoes, fennel, green beans, cherry tomatoes, lemon and dill sauce.

Both tasted as average as they appear in the images. The seared trout would have benefited from either the removal of the skin or it to have been crisped.

There were some amazing views from the sky as we came in to land in London. We could see all along the River Thames.

On the flight back to Manchester from London we had the bonus of being upgraded to Club on the . Given we were suffering from jet lag, this little luxury was very much appreciated.

We really enjoyed all of our trip to Canada. As always though, there is nothing that beats the feeling of returning to your own bed!
